Pick a museum space—or just start wandering. Draw a card. Find an object that works with the prompt. Then talk, wonder, investigate, imagine, debate or create.

When you’re ready, draw another.

The prompts are intentionally open-ended, so the same deck works across museums, ages and interests. Bring it to an art museum today, a historic house next month, and a natural history museum on vacation. You’ll have a different experience every time.

And because there’s no score to keep, list to finish, or prescribed route to follow, you can spend your museum visit following curiosity instead of completing an assignment.

The Discovery Deck was created with families in mind—but curiosity doesn’t have an age limit.
